Pundits, and the hoi polloi tend to think that "easy to use" means "used
by idiots". This ignores the First Great Virtue. Generally Mac users
exhibit all the Great Virtues. Mac users are by FAR Lazier than Unix or
Windows users. Having a computer which already so throughly anticipates
our needs makes us Impatient with the vast majority who are still playing
catch-up. And I can think of no better example of Hubris than this very
thread (gee, this may be getting a bit out of hand).

Perl in general encourages the Great Virtues, but MacPerl *exemplifies*
them.

It's fun to see Perl programmers developing in MacPerl for deployment on
Unix, and gratifying that Perl remains so cross-platform. It's equally
gratifying to take a Perl program developed in Unix Perl and run it under
MacPerl with little or no modification.

The next Perl Usage Survey (hopefully there will be another), should
probably ask more detailed questions.
