Today's MacPerl mystery is why the html files that I am writing out during script execution are showing up as MPW text files whether the script is run out of MacPerl directly or via BBEdit? All that the script does is open a series of existing files, read them, insert some links, and write them back out into a different folder. The script does not specify anything about the format of the output files and the original input files are of type BBEdit. Everything involved uses .html as an extension and both the File Exchange and Internet control panels (OS 8.5.1) are set to treat them as BBEdit 5.0 files. The default file type in BBEdit is BBEdit. Altho I do have MPW, I rarely use it for anything but horsing around. This is not the end of the world, but rather odd and a bit inconvenient. Any thoughts?
