I believe the final chapter of my search for a SQL database for the Mac has been reached. What I have found, quite by accident is a true cross-platform solution. It runs on Mac, Win95, WinNT, and Unix variants. The name is "Cloudscape" -- it is a 100% Java - SQL compliant database with some very nice java features. Just one of them is the portability. I will be using Perl to access it, as any database, and will be able to throw in some Java in the SQL part. It also comes as a server version for those requiring high-powered back-end stuff. Thanks all for the help. It is a bit pricey, but not much more than FM. I think the bigges benefit is that you can transport the database with the app/servlet that accesses it, server to server. This means that some non-platform specific perl code with go as well, so all is happy. Thanks again and have a nice day, Jon ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
