I just noticed that I misread the original post.  Sigh.  I think I need
more sleep.  I read it as "how to compile a c++ app", not "how to call a
compiled c++ app".

If you just want to launch any Mac OS app, try the Mac::Apps::Launch module
on CPAN, or use the Mac::Processes module directly.
