If you use the MPW tool version of MacPerl you can "print" to a file which is really a window in MPW. MPW will then print it for you in hard copy. There's very little control of the format though. You're really better off with a word processor to get archival quality. I like Nisus which will open and operate on pure TEXT files. You can even set up a formatted Nisus document and "print" to it as a file.
