[MacPerl] Finding files on disk

Hello again,

Let's say, hypothetically, if a person wants to find a particular file
or folder (folder in this case), would one use a module or a a toolbox
routine to do such a task?  I have researched this and can't find a
suitable way short of loading every directory/file into an array or a
file and doing a search on one or the other.
