[MacPerl] Storable in ASCII or XML?

Y'all,

   Does anyone know if there is a Storable that emits ASCII instead of 
binary?  Or maybe better yet, emits to XML?  I've been thinking of 
something like that.
   I want something as easy as Storable, but is in editable ASCII. 
Does anyone have any ideas?
