Unicode-Map8-0.06-bin-1-Mac.tgz

That one's running wu-2.4.2-academ[BETA-18] (bad news, but not for
this reason). I know of no problems with wu-ftpd corrupting files.
Since you're certainly not the only one who does this, this isn't
where the trouble lies.

We also know it gets to ftp.funet.fi properly. One of you with quick
access to a machine running MacOS should verify that you can get a
good copy from there and unpack it. My Mac is still number crunching,
so I can't switch over.

So I'm guessing one or more CPAN servers running screwed up ftp
software.

That also unpacks cleanly after retrieval from ftp.funet.fi.
