OK there is a bug thanks.  To offer partial explanation for some of 
the behavior you see I'd like to  point out that from wherever it is 
run Configure.MPW creates a :UU: subfolder and Directory's into that,
hence it looks like :MacPerl:macos:UU:.  It also uses relative file 
specs and was written such that it might also be useful if run from
:MacPerl:UU:.  Thanks for the report.
