I had about a one in three success rate. With the failures, I had to rely upon someone with the CodeWarrier Suite. After a number of tries, I can inform you that in my configuration (Quadra 610, MacOS 7.6, 68K and using SC/MrC) both the miniperl and the perl generated, fail. Most of the time, the system is frozen beyond the point where Macsbug can produce a Stdlog. The versions of miniperl and perl produced by Codewarrior (perl.68K and miniperl.68K) work better - failures are not so catastrophic as to prevent producing a Stdlog file. I would like to try skipping making the {mini}perl tools with SC/MrC. Using the .68K versions, see if SC can do the rest of the dynamic build.
