I'm considering how to work the info in, without disrupting the "flow" of 
the piece.

Right.  Even well-written docs tend to be ignored, alas.

If it can be done via AppleScript, Chris can do it in Mac::Glue (or very 
nearly). Gotta leave something for Chris to write about, and AppleEvents 
aren't my forte.  This is fodder for the future article, I think (although 
I'm not going to dictate to Chris what his subject matter should be (I'm 
sure he'll do fine without that sort of input)).
