Any Perl script saved to that folder >(with the suffix ".pl") shows up in the "Perl Filters >List", which is accessed from the "MacPerl" (picture of a >camel) menu." > >Right before Jim's comments, makes the most sense to me. 1) Whatever you want, of course. 2) Substantive comment: the .pl extension is not required. I use .plx, as I was taught by my pappy that .pl stood for Perl Library, e.g. things that you "require". AFAIK, extension doesn't matter, but I haven't tested this. 3) Subjective comment: I understand your issue with overlap between Jim's stuff and mine, and certainly would go with Jim's where overlap occurs since he wrote the program and I am only involved because this discussion got me writing Perl filters for the very first time BUT: As it stands, even with the above, all the required info is there, but maybe not in the clearest way for the beginner. If I were the author AND if I had the time, I might try to figure out how to fit in a paint by numbers for the newborn. Please don't take this as stubborness - just say "SHUT UP!" and I will :-) -David- David Steffen, Ph.D. President, Biomedical Computing, Inc. <http://www.biomedcomp.com/> Phone: (713) 610-9770 FAX: (713) 610-9769 E-mail: steffen@biomedcomp.com ==== Want to unsubscribe from this list? ==== Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-scribes-request@macperl.org
