[MacPerl] Big Mac Perl

Ok, so why can't i use Big Mac Perl (version 513r2) on a power mac??  Does
it crash it, or is it just a pig?

I sorta need to run a perl droplet in a mixed mac / power mac world, and
no, the users are NOT smart enough to double click a different version of
Mac Perl depending on their macintosh type....

All i need is LaunchApplication() and the AE stuff....

Ideas??  Suggestions?
