Nicolas Le Clerc found a bug that affects three of the BBEdit extensions I released last week. For the Run MacPerl and Check Perl Syntax extensions the bug will prevent the error browser from appearing when it should if the "User file of active window for script" option is selected. For the Run File with MacPerl extension the bug will prevent the error browser from ever being shown. The updated versions of the extensions that fix this bug (Release 5.1) are at ftp://members.aol.com/bradh5/bbedit/macperl_bbedit_extensions.sit or (binhexed version) ftp://members.aol.com/bradh5/bbedit/macperl_bbedit_ext.sit.hqx There is no need to download the new versions unless you are having one of the problems described above. Instead of downloading the new versions, ResEdit can be used to fix the bug. The bug is fixed by deleting the last 12 characters in the second string of 'STR#' resource -357 (everything *after* the single quote) in the three affected extensions.
