Hello ?, Sorry, only got the tail end of this thread and I can't tell if a portable solution is required. If you want to run a cgi script to dynamically generate graphics on the macintosh only, why not look at clip2gif, which is AppleScriptable http://iawww.epfl.ch/Staff/Yves.Piguet/clip2gif-home/ Also look at clip2gif's cousin, GifBuilder, to build your own animated gifs. You could call these from MacPerl either using applescript or appleevents. clip2gif will use the clipboard, but I guess you will have to save the file to disk to make it a GIF formatted file.
