Hi, Thanks for the feedback on the MacPerl mode, with everyone permission I'll forward the bug reports to the alpha-D list at <ALPHA-D@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU>. If you want to subscribe to that list just send email with the message: SUBSCRIBE ALPHA-D to the above address. This is a pretty low volume list. A note on Alpha 7. Alpha's shareware author, Pete Keleher, has been too busy of late to put much time into Alpha, however, as alpha is etensible by Tcl scripting, its users have been able to keep it evolving. Alpha 7 is purely a result of the Alpha-D mailing list, kind of a groupware software project spearheaded by Alpha's biggset fan and contributor, Vince Darley. One of the neat things about alpha is the ease of adding a new mode to deal with a new language or document type. Now the mode for MacPerl was developed and maintained by Tom Pollard, and while I see ocassional see posts from him, I get the impression that he does not have a lot of time to devote to the mode any more himself. So I believe the conversion of the MacPerl mode to the new format used in Alpha 7 was done most by people who understand Alpha 7, but not all the code that Tom has written, therefore the port was done somewhat mechanically and errors may have crept in. I helped with the coding of Alpha 7 and have a nodding acquintance with Perl, so I have added things to the Perl mode that exploit the features that version 7 makes available. As I learn and use Perl more I'll make other changes (just re-coded the file indexing proc's the other day to make them congruent with the behavor of the Tcl mode). Anyone that has Tcl code for the perl mode that they use, or just suggestion of things that they would like to see are welcome to post them to the Alpha-D list.
