Also, if anyone knows of a port of xemacs to >the Mac could you let me know of that as well. > This may be a setup problem, on the alpha-D mailing list we recently had a problem where a user placed his installation where the path name to Alpha's home folder contained certain unusual characters. After starting up, alpha reads a certain subset of all the Tcl files. Those files determine alpha's 'personality' (in fact, neglecting resources, the core app is the same as in 6.52, changes in the Tcl files are what change 6.52 into 7.0). here is the post from Vince Darley that solved this problem. <quote> The only suggestions I have is that you have weird characters '[' '{' '$' etc in your Alpha path: i.e. one of the folders/disks inside which Alpha is nested has a name with those odd characters (or perhaps your system disk has an odd name?) If this is true, put Alpha somewhere without funny characters. e.g. My Alpha is in: Applications:Applications:Alpha f: <end quote> If this is not it, let us know over at the alpha-D list and we will try to work out the problem. <ALPHA-D@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU> Tom ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
