[MacPerl] MacPerl and Alpha 7.0

I do most of my perl programming for unix.  I use xemacs for my text 
editor.  I have been using Alpha's text editor on my Mac because of the 
similar key bindings to that of emacs.  I recently upgraded to Alpha 7.0 
and have been unable to use Alpha in Perl mode.  Is their anyone else out 
their who uses Alpha who has run into the same problem.  I am sure it is 
just a setup problem, however, I have been unable to find out how to 
activate perl mode.  I have switched back to version 6.5.2.  I would 
appreciate any help given.  Also, if anyone knows of a port of xemacs to 
the Mac could you let me know of that as well.
