If you want to have help from other programs, you can use one of many Cron Managers for MacOS. One is even included on the MacOS 8.6 CD. My favorites: CronMgr by Mark Malson (oldie but goodie, works with same syntax as cron on unix. New version apparently coming soon. http://www.xuser.com/~markm/ iDo Script Scheduler, included with MacOS nowadays http://www.sophisticated.com/ Both items allow you to start up other applications while being clean, (small) faceless background apps.
