Hi Axel, Hi all, have you or has someone else already tried Primebase DB (I have not)? It's one of the few Mac DBs that comes with an ODBC driver. Primebase DB (a client/server DB) is part of a Web application-server, which the company has developed (German readers see c't-magazin 16/2000, page 17). As far as I know, there is a free (limited) version for Linux. For other OSs including Mac OS it's possible to download a 3 month evaluation version. Developers can get an unlimited developer key, if they provide (from Primebase's web site): - A brief description of your project - Estimated duration of the project - The platform you plan to develop on - Number of users/connections you need for development and testing See [de]: http://www.primebase.com/indexd.html [en]: http://www.primebase.com/indexe.html for details and let me know how it works. There may be another way of how a ODBC connection could be done, but I'm not sure if it will work (I don't own FileMaker or another ODBC capable DB): DBI with DBD::JDBC driver <--> SUNs JDBC-ODBC Bridge <--> any DB with ODBC driver I was just about to prepare an (fairly long) article for this mailing list, when the Filemaker Pro DB thread came up. I've just finished this article (in a hurry :). Please read the "When Perl meets Java ... " posting. See you there ...
